Tom McGuire
Senior Associate
Tom McGuire brings 20 years of experience and extensive expertise in online and direct marketing communications and fundraising to BCC. He has a proven track record of developing successful marketing and membership programs from initial strategy development through to execution, evaluation and follow-up. Most of Tom's engagements focus on providing clients with strategic planning and operational guidance for developing and deploying large-scale, multi-faceted marketing and advocacy campaigns.
Tom has also served as the National Wildlife Federation's Vice President of Membership Programs, responsible for NWF's million plus membership program and related activities, including online and offline fundraising, magazine publishing, grass-roots advocacy and volunteerism.
In addition to his time at NWF, Tom has worked in Silicon Valley as Vice President of Marketing and Development for the Electronic Frontier Foundation and in Washington, D.C. as Director of Membership Programs for the World Wildlife Fund. Tom's private sector experience includes marketing and publishing at American Express, investment banking within the media and telecom world, and as a technology entrepreneur.
Tom is also a principal in the Shearwater Marketing Group which owns and operates the Internet publishing business eNature.com. The site is one of the Internet's leading destinations for wildlife and nature and provides a "test kitchen" for developing new communication strategies and tactics.
Tom has served in leadership positions on the boards on both 501(c))3 and 501(c)4 non-profit organizations and is a regular contributor to industry publications and conferences. He has a BA and an MBA from the University of Virginia and has attended the Stanford Professional Publishing Institute. |
